LED lighting drivers set to boost efficiency

Efficiency is set to be enhanced in a number of illumination applications thanks to the development of new Led lighting drivers from Diodes Incorporated, Electronics Talk reports.

Only an indicator is needed for high-efficiency illumination, with the ZXLD381 and ZXLD383 drivers ensuring strong brightness from a single solar or rechargeable battery cell.

Efficiency is said to be as high as 93 per cent, while battery life will also be extended in any applications benefiting from the led drivers.

The publication adds: "Operating from an input voltage as low as 0.9V and delivering up to 80mA, they generate a constant current for driving single or multiple Leds, determined by the external inductor value."

Meanwhile, a dual function enable input is an additional feature of the ZXLD383, making it more suitable for use in appliances including walkway and solar-powered garden lamps.

A Pepsi factory in Russia is currently profiting from a revamp of its facilities, which included the use of led lighting in streets, roads, warehouses and courtyards at the complex.
